Ashleigh: Describe your style.

James Black: I would describe my style as edgy and relaxed, but with a touch of sophistication.

Ashleigh: Who is your style icon?

James Black: I find that I draw inspiration from multiple people. I love Rihanna's style, DJ Rashida, Madonna in the 80's, Elisa Doolittle and Solange Knowles.

Ashleigh: Do you think style is important? Why?

James Black: Style is extremely important. It's what sets you apart from the rest of the world. You can have on the same piece of clothing as someone else but it can look completely different on you because of how you accessorize it to give it your individual style. That never goes out of fashion.

Ashleigh: What makes you feel glamorous?

James Black: I rarely feel glamorous, lol, but the closest I get to that feeling is when my skin and hair are looking good :)

Ashleigh: What advice would you give to others that are trying to define their style?

James Black: When defining your style, trust your instincts. People don't always get my style but I think they more or less appreciate it. Not everyone is the same and some are more reserved by others so they might think you're crazy for wearing something, but you just need to accept that not everyone is the same and be comfortable in what you wear. However! and a big however, it's still important to be stylish so make sure your individual style is not so crazy that its getting you the wrong attention.

Ashleigh: Who is your favorite designer?

James Black: I love Alexander Wang, Alice&Olivia, Mara Hoffman and Boxing Kitten. I usually add to this list because I get introduced to a new designer almost every week

Ashleigh: Where are your favourite places to shop?

James Black: I love shopping in my mother's closet, lol. Vintage clothing is the coolest...For more traditional stores H&M, American Apparel, ASOS, TOPSHOP, and ZARA are some of my favorites.

Ashleigh: Name one fashion trend you hate.

James Black: I dont think there's any trend now that I hate, everything is pretty cool, but I do see a lot of fashion don'ts around Jamaica. Ladies not wearing clothes that fit their body type and not wearing the right accessories are big pet peeves of mine.

Ashleigh: When you meet the opposite sex, what is the first thing you notice about them?

James Black: The first thing I notice about a guy is his outfit of course! :)

Ashleigh: What look/style do you like best for guys?

James Black: I love to see a guy in a button down shirt in a great pattern, plaid or stripes, and shorts. That's my favorite summer look :)

Beauty Tip: Sleep On Your Back

Like to sleep on your side? I mean, who doesn't?

May not be so good for your skin though. Sleeping on the side can lead to creases forming on the cleavage from physical force of skin on skin. That’s why it’s better to sleep on your back. Sleeping on your back will not only give you a crease free cleavage, but also will help to avoid some facial wrinkles. For instance, did you know that nasolabial folds form deeper on the favourite sleeping side? In fact, sleeping on your side can eventually interfere with the whole symmetry of your facial features.

So as of now, sleep on your back ! :-)
