Happy Birthday To My Blog - The Pink Socialite
Wow! So today makes one year since I've started my blog - The Pink Socialite. I never knew I would have taken this whole thing so serious because I'm normally the type who just abandons such things after a few months, maybe even a few weeks. Now honestly I can say my blog has become such an important part of my life. I'm extremely grateful for the persons who have sent in their success stories for me to share, the ones who answered my interview questions, etc. Thanks to you my blog has great content that everyone is interested in and loves to read. To my faithful readers, you're the main reason I keep this blog going, because hey, without you this blog wouldn't have been a success. I'm now over 170 posts with over 22000 views thanks to you! Your support has been exceptionally great and I love the feedback I've been getting. Just amazing!

Party Outfit : Kourtney Kardashian Style
For a party I attended last night, I decided to use my favourite Kardashian sister, Kourtney, for some style inspiration. The choice - a fitted mesh sleeve dress. Kourtney's dress is of course from her Kardashians for Bebe collection while mine was from Forever 21. It actually had long sleeves but I got it cut a bit shorter. ☺
Kourtney paired her dress with Fendi leopard pumps. I however went the all black direction and paired mine with black Alfani ankle boots!

DIY : Avocado Hair Mask
Avocados contains Vitamin A, D, E, & oils which provide great hydration for your hair. Why not make your own avocado hair mask at home and revive your dry, damaged hair? Use once or twice a month to benefit from it's amazing deep conditioning effect!
1 avocado
1 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
1. Mash the flesh of the avocado in a bowl with a fork.
2. Add the 1 tablespoon of honey and 2 tablespoons of olive oil into the bowl.
3. Mix all ingredients together thoroughly until mixture is thick but smooth.
4. Apply the mask to washed, towel-dried hair. Leave on for 20-30 minutes.
5. Rinse out mask with warm water.

Ashleigh: Who is your style icon?
Amita: My style icons are Beyonce, Kim K & Rihanna. I love the way they use fashion as a huge part of their images/careers. I like Kim K especially, she reminds me of old Hollywood glamour.
Ashleigh: Do you think style is important? Why?
Amita: Style is only important when it means something more than just outfits to the individual. Style can set you apart from the rest. Remember, you are usually seen before you are heard. So physical impressions do count!
Ashleigh: What makes you feel glamorous?
Amita: I love shoes! Especially stilettos....high heels! Love em! A nice pair of high heels makes me feel glamourous, no matter what the outfit is.
Ashleigh: What advice would you give to others that are trying to define their style?
Amita: Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Apart from that, you should research current fashions trends, your fashion icons and pick what you like/love. Always keep in mind your body type and what shapes will flatter your body...not all trends fit every body type! The internet is your best friend!
Ashleigh: Who is your favorite designer?
Amita: I have a few favorite designers: Valentino, Alexander McQueen,Yves Saint Laurent,Christian Dior, Romeich Wear and Nina Ricci.
Ashleigh: Where are your favourite places to shop?
Amita: Forever 21, 20/20 (Jamaica)...basically anywhere with great customer service and hot fashions at reasonable prices. Sometimes it's easier to shop around everywhere ...pick up pieces that you love.
Ashleigh: Name one fashion trend you hate.
Amita: Any fashion trends I hate? The pants below your butt and underwear out trend that men seem to adore!
Ashleigh: When you meet the opposite sex, what is the first thing you notice about them?
Amita: When I meet a guy, the first thing I notice is their smile, their scent, and their choice of language! Who doesn't love a smooth talker?
Ashleigh: What look/style do you like best for guys?
Amita: Any man who is well dressed is an attractive man! I love that crisp jean, plaid shirt, and matching sneakers look..with the jewelry to compliment...but my preference changes with the trends!

Wow! The last month of the year 2011 already? Crazy!
New month, new opportunities.
I love, love, love December. It's that time of the year when I celebrate the birth of Christ, decorate my Christmas tree, go Christmas shopping, have lots of food, and enjoy quality time with my family and friends.
Can't wait to see what December has in store for me ! Anticipating year 2012 already too!
