Beauty Tip: Dry Nails Faster with Cold Water

Tired of that long wait for your nails to dry? Well here's a little tip!

After polishing your nails, allow them to dry for two minutes. Fill a bowl with ice cold water and ensure that it is large enough for your fingers to be submerged. Place hands in the water and keep them there for three minutes. The cold water will set and dry it completely. It's that simple !

DIY : Hot Oil Treatment

Get strong, healthy, shiny hair with this easy DIY hot oil treatment that only requires you use 3 really simple ingredients from your kitchen!

 

 

What You'll Need

1/2 cup almond oil

1/4 cup avocado oil

1/4 cup olive oil

shower cap

Instructions

1. Prep your hair for the treatment first by shampooing and towel-drying your hair.

2. In a microwaveable bowl, add the 1/2 cup of almond oil, 1/4 cup of avocado oil and olive oil.

3. Mix the ingredients together.

4. Microwave treatment for about 30-40 seconds. Be careful when removing! The oil will be hot!

5. Apply treatment from the roots to the end of your hair. Leave on for 20-30 minutes or until you desire.

6. Shampoo and condition hair after the desired time.

1. Foundation - I do not have perfect skin, neither is my skin even toned, so I achieve my flawless look using my Revlon Colorstay and Revlon Photoready Foundation.

2. Lipstick/Lipgloss - My makeup look is always completed with my lipstick topped off with my lipgloss. My favourite lip colors are from MAC, Covergirl and Revlon.

 

3. Pressed Powder - To complete my foundation, I have to have my pressed powder to achieve a matte look. 

4. Eyelashes - I have become addicted to eyelashes because they make my eyes pop. I apply them myself whenever I am going out and I order them from Ebay.

5. Liquid Eyeliner - Even if I am not wearing eyeshadow, I must have my eyeliner.

6. Lighted Compact Mirror - Being the diva that I am, I always have to make sure my face is looking flawless. I never go anywhere without my lighted compact mirror.

7. Flat Iron and Curling Wand - 90% of the time I wear my hair straight and that's when I need my flat iron. Other times when I wear it curly, I definitely need my curling wand.

8. Sigma F82 Round Top Kabuki Brush - My flawless foundation application is achieved using this brush.

9. Body Fragrances - A diva gotta be smelling right!

10. Concealer - I currently use MAC prolong wear concealer. This is used to get my perfectly shaped eyebrows.

Interview with: Taylor Parks

Ashleigh: Hey Taylor. How are you doing?

Taylor: I'm doing great!

Ashleigh: Tell us a little about yourself.

Taylor: I'm an 18 year old singer/songwriter and actress from Dallas !

Ashleigh: You starred in the well known movie Hairspray as Inez. How was that experience for you?

Taylor: It was an amazing experience. I had a chance to work with an amazing cast so I took everyday as a chance to learn.

Ashleigh: You've covered quite a few popular songs on your Youtube channel. Which would you say have been your favourite to do so far?

Taylor: "Breakeven" or "Talking to the Moon" would probably be one of my favorites. They're beautiful songs lyrically.

Ashleigh: Who are your musical inspirations?

Taylor: Beyonce, Brian McKnight, Kim Burrell, David Foster... The list goes on.

Ashleigh: Does anyone else in your family sing?

Taylor: My mother and my father sing ! My little sister has the ability to sing as well. :)

Ashleigh: Are your parents supportive of what you do?

Taylor: My parents are extremely supportive. They are the reason I am in California now. The success that I've had so far wouldn't be possible without them.

Ashleigh: Tell us a little more about your track 'Kiss Me'.

Taylor: "Kiss Me" is a track written by Leon Thomas and I. The track was produced by Niko McKnight. We played around with a few concepts and that's how "Kiss Me" came along.

Ashleigh: What do you prefer - singing or acting?

Taylor: I love them both, but if I was forced to choose one, it would be singing. Music has always and will always be a big part of my life.

Ashleigh: What's the best advice you've ever been given?

Taylor: "Do what you have to do in order to do what you want to do". This advice was given to me by my father and now it's something I live by! I constantly tell my friends and little sister the same thing.

Ashleigh: What are your plans for 2012?

Taylor: Hopefully a lot of things that were set up in 2011 will come through this year. My focus has been on writing for other artists so we'll see what happens.

DIY : Pineapple Face Scrub

Gently exfoliate your face with this easy DIY pineapple face scrub which can help to rejuvenate and improve your skin tone. Regular exfoliation can result in fewer blotches and discoloration, less noticeable scars, and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.



What You'll Need
2/3 cup fresh pineapple chunks (room temperature)
1/4 cup cold-pressed olive oil
1/4 cup fresh, clean parsley, chopped



Instructions
1. Pulse pineapple in a blender, then add oil until almost smooth.

2. Add parsley and blend carefully so mask doesn't liquefy.

3. Apply to face and leave on for 15 minutes.

4. Wash off with lukewarm water.
