Graduation !

I had such a lovely day yesterday at graduation. Still can't believe I'm actually out of high school! Unbelievable really! I remember the first day I started like it was yesterday.

Before I share some pics with you guys of the big day, I'd like you to know that I also received an award for 'Best Performance in Communication Studies'. Definitely wasn't expecting that but I'm so grateful my hard work is being recognized by so many. Let me be honest too & say I'll definitely miss high school, the teachers, my friends, the whole setting, & maybe even the school work! Lol :)

Thanks Denbigh High School for working with me through it all. You've made me the most confident girl on this planet, taught me to NEVER give up, & that if I work for something I really want, I WILL get it.

6th Form Graduation Picture + A Personal Note !

Hey guys, my graduation is this Tuesday(June 26). I'm no longer a high school student! Woohoo!This will be my second high school graduation actually, as I had graduated from Grade 11/5th form when I attended Glenmuir High School. However, I went on to Grade 12 & 13, which is more commonly known as 6th form, at Denbigh High School. I'm grateful for just about everything right now. I have accomplished so much throughout my entire life, especially during my years at Denbigh High. It makes me so happy to know that my hard work has paid off, and it puts this huge smile on my face when I know I'm making my parents, my family, my friends, my teachers & everyone who has been behind me throughout all these years very proud. The support I get from everyone is indescribable, & everyday I'm reminded of how blessed I am, especially when I realise I have these people.

Now on to university! Fortunately, I got accepted to The University of West Indies (Mona) in Jamaica in January where I'll be studying to get my degree in Integrated Marketing Communication. Therefore, the school work NEVER ends! Lol. This also means that I leave home in August. Mixed feelings here guys, you know I'll miss coming home to some good dinner and seeing my family everyday, but a LITTLE more freedom is the good part. ;) I promise to continue to work hard, get some cash, and open my own business very soon!

Ashleigh: Describe your style.

Naty Michele: I like to be versatile with my looks so I'm always trying to switch it up. My style is very chic, feminine, classy, flirty & edgy. For the most part I keep up with the latest trends, but only if it's something that I am comfortable wearing. I'm open minded and like to try different things, but if it doesn't fit my own personal style, then I won't wear it just because it's on trend. I kind of just like to do my own thing. 

Ashleigh: Who is your style icon?

Naty Michele: Right now it's Kourtney Kardashian. She's extremely fashionable and I really love her outfits. Many of them I can see myself wearing. I relate to her on that level. But I get inspired by so many different people, both celebrity and non celeb. 

Ashleigh: Do you think style is important? Why?

Naty Michele: I do. Having your own personal style is what makes you YOU and is what sets you apart from everyone else. It's not just about the clothes you wear, but how you wear them and how you are representing yourself.

Ashleigh: What makes you feel glamorous?

Naty Michele: The best part about having a fashion blog is being able to get dressed up almost every day. Anytime I do my makeup, put on a nice outfit and a good pair of heels, I instantly feel great! But it's also about having confidence in yourself and that makes me feel glamorous.

Ashleigh: What advice would you give to others that are trying to define their style?

Naty Michele: Try to get some inspiration from different people, whether it's a celebrity, fashion blogger, a friend, or someone you see walking down the street. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Take a few risks and try some trends. Start getting a feel for what you like and what you're comfortable in. It took me a while to finally find myself in terms of style. Looking back I definitely made some fashion don'ts, (lol), but that's all part of the process!  Most importantly, just stay true to yourself. Make sure the clothes you wear reflect who you are as an individual.

Ashleigh: Who is your favorite designer?

Naty Michele: It's so hard to pick just one! I love many and for different reasons. Some of them are Christian Dior, YSL, Alexander McQueen, Zac Posen, Stella McCartney, and the list goes on!

Ashleigh: Where are your favorite places to shop?

Naty Michele: I like to shop everywhere but the 3 places I shop at the most are H&M, Zara, and Forever21. I also love boutiques and thrift shops. I've found some amazing jewelry pieces from local thrift stores.

Ashleigh: Name one fashion trend you hate.

Naty Michele: There isn't really any that I hate, but I'm not a huge fan of mixing prints. I haven't tried it yet, but I just feel like it's not really my thing. Some people pull it off well though. 

Ashleigh: When you meet the opposite sex, what is the first thing you notice about them?

Naty Michele: Their eyes.

Ashleigh: What look/style do you like best for guys?

Naty Michele: I love the way Ryan Gosling dresses. So if they dress like him then that's a plus. :)

Ashleigh: Describe your style.

 

Shawn: I am always shooting to look stylish and fashion forward without looking like I tried very hard. I would say my style is a combo of girly, bohemian, chic, edgy and effortless.

 

Ashleigh: Who is your style icon?

 

Shawn: I really love Rachel Zoe and Nicole Richie.

 

Ashleigh: Do you think style is important? Why?

 

Shawn: Yes, style is very important. It defines you and makes you stand out. It tells others how you want to be perceived and also shows that you have a voice. Taking pride in the way you look shows that you care about yourself and those you love.

 

Ashleigh: What makes you feel glamorous?

 

Shawn: Doing my hair and makeup and putting on heels to go out somewhere fun!

 

 

Ashleigh: What advice would you give to others that are trying to define their style?

 

Shawn: You can't be anyone but you. Stick with what you like, what makes you feel comfortable and what flatters your body the most.

Ashleigh: Who is your favorite designer?

 

Shawn: I love Chloe and Rag & Bone.

Ashleigh: Where are your favourite places to shop?

 

Shawn: Zara, Brandy Melville, Madewell, Nasty Gal.

 

 

Ashleigh: Name one fashion trend you hate.

 

Shawn: I hate those long pointy nails that Rihanna and other celebs have been rocking lately!

Ashleigh: When you meet the opposite sex, what is the first thing you notice about them?

 

Shawn: I notice their face and smile and their confidence.

Ashleigh: What look/style do you like best for guys?

 

Shawn: I like for everything to be very tailored. Go for the David Beckham look guys! No Abercrombie or Ed Hardy.
